Skjervoy Has Sick $850k Session
The high-stakes games on Full Tilt continued to amaze last night as Andreas “Skjervoy” Torbergsen won $845,000.
Torbergsen, who signed on as a CardRunners instructor this summer, has quickly risen through the high-stakes PLO ranks since learning the game in 2005.
All this week the Norwegian has been locked in an epic heads-up struggle with online player cadillac1944 in numerous sessions of high-stakes PLO.
Last night no holds were barred as Skjervoy and cadillac1944 played 243 hands of $500/$1,000 PLO with the biggest pot tipping the scales at $407,146.
Skjervoy would eventually beat cadillac1944 out of $611,000 before moving on to a Six-Game $300/$600 PLO table where he was able to get the best of a table that included Patrik Antonius, David Benefield, Niki Jedlicka and Ziigmund.
Torbergsen added $228,000 from that session, finally finishing his day with an extra $845k in his bankroll. With the win Skjervoy rockets up the top-earners leaderboard this year with $1.2 million.
Other huge winners last night included iHateJuice who took down $459k, DrugsOrMe who was up $319k and Hac “trex313” Dang who picked up $234k.
Meanwhile Patrik Antonius had one of his worst sessions in recent memory as he lost $921k in 2,247 hands. It's a marked difference from this weekend when he raked over $1 million from his opponents.
One of the major problems was IHateJuice who managed to take $459k from Antonius in 1,109 hands of $2,000/$4,000 Limit Poker.
It’s back to the drawing board for Antonius who is now down over $100k in 2010.
Antonius wasn’t the only player to lose big, however. David Benefield coughed up $422k and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond also lost $328k.
Perhaps the most impressive stat of the evening was that cadillac1944 actually managed to battle back from his $611k loss to Skjervoy and finished the night only $50k in the hole.
