Silver Bubbles, Gold Rises for UKIPT Galway Title

Max Silver
Max Silver

The last of the big names gave up his UKIPT Galway title hopes last night as Max Silver bubbled the final table leaving Scotsman Alan Gold to soar to the win today in Ireland.

Gold, a predominantly online player, began the final table with the chip lead and blazed through the final in four hours before making a deal and defeating Glaswegian Paul Febers heads-up in just three hands.

Regardless of where Gold finished at the final table in Galway it would have been his biggest career live score, but he leaves with €187,494.

Febers, a $2m+ winner online under the name xxCelticFCxx, earned €149,906 for second while Irishman Daragh Davey finished third for €80,400.

Silver Bubbles, Parkinson and Philip Get Deep

The last of the big names playing in Galway hit the rail earlier than expected as Max Silver ran into late trouble and bubbled the final table.

Padraig Parkinson
Solid showing for Padraig.

Silver, with two solid cashes already in Galway, was one of the favorites with nine players left but failed to make it a second final table after running pocket tens into the kings of Davey.

Silver earned a decent €13,400 to bump his earnings in Ireland this week up around €25k.

Team PokerStars online pro Dale Philip also managed a solid run to finish 30th overall while Irish poker legend and 2013 Spirit of Poker nominee Padraig Parkinson made it to 38th.
