Showdown Poker Tour continues in Estonia

By: Sarah Polson

The Showdown Poker Tour (SPT) will be making its next stop in Tallin, Estonia, Aug. 31 through Sept. 3. The event will take place at the Reval Park Hotel and Casino.

The Tallin event marks the restart of the tour after having to cancel an earlier event in August that was scheduled to take place in Trouville, France. According to the tour's Web site, the changes were made because French gaming laws were changed which affected the tournament.

The French event will be moved to another casino within the Lucien Barriere casino group later this year.

Mats Gavatin won the initial SPT event in London, and Jeff Sharpe won the following event in Dublin.

The Tallin tournament will have a €5,000, plus €300, buy-in like the first two tournaments and 200 seats are available. Those interested can sign-up on the SPT Web site to register to play.

There are two other events on the SPT schedule before the end of the year. There will be one in Elsinore, Denmark, Oct. 19 through 22, and another in Hamburg, Germany, Nov. 27 through 30.

More information about the tour can be read at New Poker Tour Introduced in Europe.
