SDPT event to be broadcast on television in November
By Sarah Polson
The Showdown Poker Tour (SDPT) Elsinore, Denmark, event will air on Viasat Sport 1 Nov. 14. The event was just recently concluded Oct. 22 with Henrik Witt as the winner.
"It is great that we can announce a broadcast date of our Elsinore event only a few weeks after it happened," said Soren Hansen and Teddy Vendersbo, founders of the SDPT. "We are really happy about the production and are looking forward to seeing the show on air."
Winmedia produced the show and is the new production partner for the SDPT. Only one show was produced for the Elsinore event, but the next event in Switzerland is planned to have four programs produced from it, giving all the players a greater chance of making it onto TV.
Those who make it into the broadcast have the potential of being seen in the 1.2 million households that Viasat Sport 1 reaches. Following the first broadcast, the SDPT Elsinore event will be shown on Viasat Sport 3 the week after which reaches 2.4 million homes in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Baltics.
