Roman Kump Wins 888Live Local Vienna; Costa Brava Next

Another successful event in the 888poker Live Local series is in the books.

The Poker Royale Card Casino in the Wiener Neustadt might not lie in the heart of Austria’s capital of Vienna but it is very popular among the poker community.

Over 100 players made their way to the 888poker Live Local event over the weekend and broke the expected €20k prize pool – even if only by a small margin.

When registration closed 103 entries were counted and the winner on Sunday night was local hero Roman Klum, who earned €4,850 for a couple of hours of playing cards.

Top Three Make a Deal

In Vienna players started with 30,000 chips and played 30 minute levels.

The top three players made a deal to secure at least €3,400 each.

Stefan Roboch – publisher of the Austrian Poker Magazin - secured €3,400 in third and Michael Motzelt €4,100 for second place.

All in all the prize pool was €21,300 and shared between 11 players who were lucky enough to make the money and win a minimum prize of €450.

Spain, England and Estonia Up Next

There are still three more 888poker Live Local events in the first half of 2015 and the next stop is one of Europe’s all-time party hotspots.

This weekend players will gather at the Casino Costa Brava in Lloret de Mar, which for decades has been a very popular destination for holiday hungry travelers from all over Europe.

The tournament will run from Friday to Sunday with two starting days and a final on Sunday evening. Players will start with 25,000 chips and the levels will be 30 minutes long. One re-entry is permitted.

After the Spanish stop there will be a three-week break before the tour comes back to London again for another tournament at the Aspers casino. Satellites on 888poker start from 1 cent and are running 24/7.

In June the Live Local series reaches its most Northern stop - Tallinn, Estonia. Estonia has long been a small paradise in the North for the poker community, almost an insider tip, at least until the EPT went there in 2010.

Tallinn will also be the next stop of the adjoined €440 buy-in 888poker Live series that combines poker with sports or cultural activities.

Great Destinations, Big Prize Pools

888poker’s live local series is an international tournament series designed for hobby players.

It features a low buy-in of €220, great destinations to play in, slow tournament structures and sizable prize pools.
