Rock star to face Doyle in Harman's charity event
By Erik Sylven
Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe will be one of the players in the inaugural Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament. The rock star will compete with some of the best poker players in the world for a seat in the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.
The charity event will take place Friday April 20 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. There will be a silent auction and a Texas Hold'em tournament, starting at noon (PDT).
All proceeds from the event will go to the Nevada SPCA in Las Vegas to provide funding for the animal care group to continue to serve the area.
"This is a charity so close to my heart," said Jennifer Harman in a press release. "The strides they've made at the Nevada SPCA no-kill shelter are unbelievable."
The Jennifer Harman Charity is recommending a contribution of $300 for each seat reserved in the tournament, and the starting field looks to be a great one.
These are some of the top class poker players who will be playing in the Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament:
Doyle Brunson, T.J. Cloutier, Jeff Madsen, Ted Forrest, Howard Lederer, Robert Williamson III, Jamie Gold, Annie Duke, Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, David Williams, Phil Hellmuth, Scotty Nguyen, Chris Ferguson, Men "The Master" Nguyen, Daniel Negreanu and David "Devilfish" Ulliott.
Other interesting names in the tournament include Jennifer Tilly, local comedian Carrot Top, juggler and entertainer Chipper, and Olympic snowboard medalists Ross Powers, Keir Dillon, Jeff Brushie and David Driscoll.
Matt Savage, Rob Huxley, and Kyle Morris will emcee the tournament, and Robert Williamson III will host the live auction.
The first prize in the tournament is a seat in the $10,000 2007 WSOP Main Event.
