Risk Makes it Two at UKIPT Galway

Two-time UKIPT champion Nick Abou Risk.

Nick Abou Risk kicked off the second season of the PokerStars UKIPT winning his second title on the tour.

The 25-year old Canadian turned Dubliner, who booked a £50,000 win at UKIPT Edinburgh during Season 1 this past August, became the first player to win two UKIPT titles at UKIPT Galway this weekend.

This time, the win was worth €67,100 as 266 players satellited or bought their way into the €1,100 main event at the Radisson hotel in Galway, Ireland despite snow storms and airport closures across the United Kingdom and Ireland that forced a delay of the start of the event by one day.

In all, a €266,000 prize pool was created, paying 32 spots.

Abou Risk started the nine-handed final table as chip leader and never relinquished it.

In fact, he cracked Aonghus Farrell's aces to send him home ninth and picked up two aces of his own twice three-handed on the road to victory.

Galway was the first of nine PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour Season 2 stops.

Next up is Nottingham, with the main event running Feb. 11-14.

Here's how the fianl table finished up in Galway:

1 Nick Abou Risk €67,100
