Poker champ Greg Raymer threw his support behind a new electronic poker table at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, N.Y., this weekend.

The so-called "Fossilman" and 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event winner spent Friday and Saturday at the casino debuting the resort's new Lightning Poker game.

Using the Lightning Poker version of Texas Hold'em, players are without cards or chips. Up to 10 people can compete, playing in front of a 46-inch monitor that displays the game's action. Each player also has a personal screen showing their hand and bets.

With three Lightning Poker tables, the casino - which is located on the Oneida Indian Nation - is the first gambling resort to debut the technology. A spokesperson for the company said he expects the electronic version to be popular with the younger generation.

The casino plans to use the new technology for single-table sit-and-go tournaments. The 24-hour poker room, however, will continue to offer traditional games of Seven-Card Stud, Hold'em, Omaha and Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo.
