Queens of Heart sponsoring WSOP Ladies Event seat

Queen of Hearts 2008

For the fourth year in a row, Lisa Tenner has organized a star-studded lineup for the Queens of Heart Team to take on the World Series of Poker No-Limit Hold'em Ladies World Championship.

One lucky lady out there will have the opportunity to join the team and play in the 2009 WSOP ladies event by playing in the Ladies International Poker Series league at Harrah's Casino in Las Vegas.

Starting Jan. 24, women can play in the league for four months, with the overall point winner earning a paid seat in the WSOP event as part of the Queens of Heart Team.

The Queens of Heart Team members play for themselves in the tournament, plus they commit a portion of their winnings for charity.

In the past, the team has had celebrity players such as Mimi Rogers, Jackie Collins, Joely Fisher, Teri Hatcher, Cheryl Hines, Camryn Manheim and Mindy McCready. It has also included former Ladies Event winners such as Barbara Enright, Jennifer Tilly, Sally Anne Boyer, Mary Jones and Susie Isaacs.

Not only will the winner earn a spot among these ladies on the Queens of Heart Team and a seat in the Ladies Championship, the winner also earns a luncheon with Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP commissioner, and the entire Queens of Heart Team the Saturday before the start of the event.

Ladies will get their shot at making the team on league days Jan. 24, Feb. 28, March 28 and April 25. The tournaments will be $100 No-Limit Hold'em events and seating is limited.

Points will be awarded at every event. Participants will earn 10 points just for playing. Those who make the final table get another five points.

At the final table, players earn one more point for each place they make. So finishing in 10th place earns one more point, while winning a tournament earns 10 more points. That means the winner of an event can earn 25 total points.
