Pros going down at WPT Foxwoods

Jim Worth

By Erin Warner

Once upon a time in a casino far, far away hundreds of poker players gathered to compete in Day 1a of the Foxwoods Poker Classic. But entrants are falling fast at the castle-like venue in wooded Connecticut, as the World Poker Tour event unfolds today.

The $10,000 championship No-Limit Hold'em tournament began today and will run until Tuesday.

The pros have come - guys such as Hoyt Corkins and John Hennigan - but even more have already gone - notably Joe Sebok, "Syracuse" Chris Tsiprailidis, David Pham and Scott Fischman.

Rest assured, a fresh crop will arrive tomorrow to play for a share of the yet-to-be-determined prize pool as the tournament's Day 1b gets underway.

PokerListings.com is on site, pumping out live tournament updates as fast as tournament reporter Matt Showell's fingers can type them.
