The Poker Players Alliance unveiled its Poker Advocacy Booth at the start of the 2008 World Series of Poker at the end of May, giving poker fans a way to communicate their support of poker to elected officials.

Now poker fans can meet some of the game's top players as well at the Poker Advocacy Booth. Every day that there is tournament play going on until July 6, a poker player will be available to chat and sign autographs from 4 to 4:45 p.m. PDT.

Poker players who have confirmed they will take part include:

  • Doyle Brunson
  • Annie Duke
  • Chris "Jesus" Ferguson
  • Jennifer Harman
  • Howard Lederer
  • Tiffany Michelle
  • Greg Raymer
  • Vanessa Rousso
  • Daniel Negreanu
  • Cyndy Violette
  • Phil Hellmuth
  • Liz Lieu

While at the booth to meet their favorite pros, poker fans will also be able to register to vote, join the PPA and send letters to their congressmen urging them to protect the rights of poker players.

"We have come a long way in educating members of Congress and state elected officials that poker is a game of skill and not a crime. Yet the threats to our right to play this great game are not going away," said former Senator Alfonse D'Amato, PPA chairman.

"The PPA's Poker Advocacy Booth makes it easier for poker aficionados at the WSOP to make their voices heard. We are very excited to bring our grassroots efforts to poker's hallowed ground, and we are grateful that Harrah's and the WSOP have provided us with premium space to get our message to the poker community."

The booth is located in the Main Hallway of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino near the Amazon Room where the WSOP action is taking place. The booth will be set up at the Rio for the duration of the tournament series.
