Tournament tables are circled with Chris Moneymaker wannabes, but only 27 of them will play to win a prize pool equivalent to the poker pro's 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event winnings in the Bahamas this week.

The PokerStars.com Moneymaker Millionaire plays out at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Caribbean, with three nine-person tables running Jan. 6.

It's the largest free poker tournament in history where online players from around the world will compete for $2.5 million in prizes, including a $1 million grand prize.

"Chris Moneymaker personalizes the dream for us small stakes players," said Donald "donfairplay" Craig, a 26-year-old player from California who will compete in the event.

Starting this summer, each PokerStars.com customer got a free pass to a daily qualifier to the tournament. The top 50 players at each event advanced to the next round, where they played for final seat and tropical trip.

Running July through December, PokerStars.com awarded 27 seats, with each of the players receiving a free trip to the Bahamas and a guaranteed $5,000 in prize money.

The eventual winner will receive either $1 million in cash, or a 2007 Aston Martin DB9.

The World Poker Tour PokerStars.com Caribbean Poker Adventure begins Thursday at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. The WPT final table will run Jan. 10.
