PokerStars upgrades Sunday Million to $1.5 Million
The world's biggest weekly online poker tournament is getting even bigger thanks to PokerStars.
Due to constantly growing fields and record prize pools, PokerStars has officially upgraded the guarantee of the Sunday Million to $1.5 million from the former $1 million.
Although the name will remain the same there will be over $1.5 million awarded to players every week from here on out.
Already the industry leader for large prize pools, PokerStars has cemented itself as the go-to site for poker players looking for the most lucrative tournaments on the Internet.
Just last week online player Fred_Brink got a firsthand look at the benefits of an upgraded guarantee as he took down $204,198 for winning the Aug. 4 Sunday Million.
The Sunday Million won't be the only tournament getting a boost in prize pool guarantees. The Sunday Warm-Up has been changed from a $500,000 guarantee to $750,000.
In addition to the upgraded prize pools in already-established events, PokerStars has also added a $530 No-Limit Hold'em tournament on Sundays with a $250,000 guarantee, and at the end of each month that tournament will have a $1,030 buy-in.
PokerStars seems to be gearing up for its giant World Championship of Online Poker, which promises to be bigger this year than any before, packed as it is with 33 events in all variants of the game and prize money to shatter previous records. It all kicks off on Sept. 5 and will culminate with a $10 million guaranteed main event.
Make sure to deposit on PokerStars before the big dance in September. In the meantime check out our exclusive promotions with the brand.
