PokerStars Sunday Million a whirl for twirlpro
The Internet's biggest weekly online tournament just keeps getting bigger. This week 8,001 players registered for PokerStars.com Sunday Million, which made for a total prize pool of $1.6 million, easily breaking the guarantee of $1.5 million.
In the end it was online player twirlpro who overcame a field that included the likes of Team PokerStars Pro members Daniel Negreanu, Isabelle Mercier, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Barry Greenstein, Andre Akkari and William Thorson.
twirlpro beat fratzl to take down an epic first-place prize of $196,024. fratzl settled for the still very decent amount of $132,176 for second place.
As usual there were a large number of tournaments available for players on a very busy PokerStars Sunday, and several well-known players made some serious cash.
Noted online pro, and acclaimed PokerListings.com blogger, Matt "All_in_at420" Stout made good in one of the $215+R events for $44,362. We look forward to reading about how it all went down for Stout in an upcoming blog.
Greenstein, whose PokerStars ID is barryg1 for those who didn't know, made the final table of the Sunday 500 but was eventually ousted seventh, which was good for $16,250. Canadian player freezeplay would go on to win the whole thing for $91,250.
Finally, Akkari, who is one of the most consistent winners in Sunday events, placed seventh in the $215 H.O.R.S.E. for $1,800.
The other big scores of the day saw Yankees31 win the Sunday Warm-Up for $105,716 and Higote win the $100,000 for first place in the $1 Million Turbo Takedown.
