It appears one Brazilian soccer legend wasn’t enough for PokerStars.

FC Barcelona striker Neymar Jr. will join Ronaldo as an ambassador for the online poker giant, PokerStars announced today.

Neymar Jr. will promote PokerStars across social media and play in major live and online tournaments.

He was already a poker fan and often posted photos of his various home games on Instagram.

“Neymar Jr is a young and extremely charismatic megastar who loves interacting with fans on social media, is comfortable on camera and loves the game of poker," said Amaya CEO David Baazov.

"And as a superstar with one of the world’s most famous football clubs and football nations, his appeal is global. This partnership is a great opportunity to market the game of poker across the globe and attract new fans.”

PokerStars' other poker legend.

Neymar Jr. is currently in the midst of another successful season for FC Barcelona where he has 21 goals in 31 appearances.

“Growing up and playing football everyday has made me a competitive person. When I’m not playing football, playing poker and competing against my teammates on the road or in home games with friends is one of my favorite things to do,” said Neymar Jr.

“To be a successful poker player, you require many of the same skills needed to be a successful footballer – mental strength is important; resilience, patience, composure and focus. I love the challenge, whether it’s on the football pitch or at the poker table.”

Neymar Jr. is not the only superstar on the pitch that’s professed a love for poker.

Recently Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo posted a photo of a home game. Neymar’s FC Barcelona teammate Gerard Piqué already plays at the WSOP and even retired English legend Teddy Sheringham has over $300,000 in lifetime live tournament earnings.
