PokerStars Releases EPT London Schedule Invades London for the WSOP-E

Once again the European Poker Tour will stop in London and this time 31 events will be on tap as part of the “Festival of Poker.”

The 2011 festival is set to run Sept. 29-Oct. 6 and will be highlighted by the £5,250 buy-in EPT London main event, which begins Sept. 30.

English Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree is already looking forward to the big dance in her backyard.

“I’m so excited that the EPT London Festival of Poker is just around the corner. It will mark a year since I joined Team PokerStars Pro and it was one of the best series of poker tournaments I’ve played in,” she said.

Some of the other highlights of the festival include a European 8-Game Championship, a heads-up event and a £20k High Roller tournament.

In addition to a number of standard No-Limit Hold’em and PLO side events there will also be several more obscure poker variants including five-card PLO Hi-Lo, NLHE Turbo “Win the Button” and a NLHE Turbo “Rivers” where each player receives a river card.

London is one of the few stops on the EPT that has been around since the very beginning and has been home to some of the most thrilling wins in the history of the tour.

John Shipley, Victoria Coren, Mark Teltscher and Michael Martin are among the big name players who held the title EPT London title.

EPT London will once again take place at the Hilton London Metropole with cash games available at the nearby Grosvenor Victoria Casino.

Satellites are already running for EPT London on PokerStars but it’s also possible to buy in directly using the software or pay in person.

The entire main event will also be filmed for a television broadcast.
