PokerRoom.com recruiting players for boot camp
By Erin Warner
Enlisting in boot camp never sounded so fun. At PokerRoom.com, all the process involves is playing some Sunday afternoon Hold'em.
The poker room is hosting a Boot Camp Tourney, the winner of which will attend the World Poker Tour Boot Camp in Atlantic City this April.
Buy in to the event for $10+1 on Sunday at 1 p.m. (EST) and you could be off to New Jersey for exhaustive poker instruction under drill masters Tom McEvoy and Vanessa Rousso.
The tournament is a one-off Texas Hold'em re-buy with unlimited $10 re-buys for the first hour and one $10 add-on available at the first break.
For those who aren't interested in a crash course, PokerRoom.com is also offering a cash alternative of $3,000 to players who want to opt out of the boot camp.
Those who do sign up for the camp will fly to Atlantic City and stay in the Borgata from April 13-17 on the poker room's dime - a prize valued at $4,000.
The boot camp itself is designed to fast track players to the final table with a two-day program. In addition to McEvoy and Rousso, pro players Nick Brancato and Crispin Leyser will be schooling recruits and answering questions in a social setting.
