PokerRoom.com going mobile

By Sarah Polson

What do you get when Bwin and Cellectivity come together? A mobile version of one of your favorite online poker rooms, that's what. Soon PokerRoom.com will be available on a cell phone near you.

Bwin, owner of PokerRoom.com, announced this week its plans to enter into a partnership with Cellectivity.

The two companies will combine forces to bring PokerRoom.com live via cell phones.

That would make PokerRoom.com the first live multi-player mobile poker application of its kind, according to Cellectivity, because it will allow mobile users to play against real online players.

"There is a significant and proven market for online poker," said Marcel Puyk, Cellectivity CEO. "By working with bwin, we will be able to provide mobile users with access to real online poker tables for the very first time."

The joint venture is expected to give a boost to the global poker boom in the mobile market.

"This is an incredibly exciting development in mobile gaming," Puyk said.

This latest partnership is Cellectivity's second with an online gambling company. In February it also announced a deal with 888.com, operator of an online casino and Pacific Poker.
