PokerListings.com launches charity program

By: PokerListings.com

Poker players have a heart, and the poker industry is not a playground for reckless hustlers, contrary to what many believe. In an effort to stress these truths and to share its successes with people in need, PokerListings.com has created a charity program to assist in making the world a better place and to change the way people think about poker.

A joyful pastime for many and “a tough way to make an easy living” for some, poker has emerged as the foundation of a bourgeoning international gaming industry over the last few years. As the leading Internet poker guide, PokerListings.com is proud to be a part of this development, and wants to use its success as a way to give back.

As such, PokerListings.com recently launched a charity program aimed at influencing people’s impressions of poker, and supporting the on-going work of several non-profit humanitarian organizations, both within the poker world and without.

As a first step in what the company hopes will be a long term initiative, PokerListings.com has donated $10,000 to three different organizations: UNICEF, Save the Children, and Médicins Sans Frontiéres.

More information about the $30,000 donation can be obtained at PokerListings.com Charity and Aid Organizations Benefit From PokerListings.com Charity Initiative.
