Aptly named and newly launched poker site Poker.com has been quick to offer its players the chance to win a seat to the Aussie Millions Poker tournament, which will be held at Melbourne's prestigious Crown Casino from January 12-20.
One player a week will win the $12,000 Poker.com prize package that includes the $6,500 main event buy-in, 8 nights accommodation at the Crown Towers, return airfare to and from Melbourne, a private Sit N'Go tournament at Crown Casino against other Poker.com winners, an exclusive dinner at one of the city's newest restaurants, tickets to the Australian Open Tennis, and Poker.com merchandise.
The annual Aussie Millions, or Crown Australian Poker Championship, is the largest poker tournament held in the southern hemisphere. It is hosted at the Crown Casino complex in Melbourne, Australia - home of the largest casino and poker room in the country.
This year's main event prize pool will offer over $5 million, with a $1 million first place payout. Numerous pro players are expected to attend the tournament this year, such as Joseph Hachem. Last year's field boasted a number of pros including Scotty Ngyuen, Mike Sexton, Marcel Luske, and Tony Bloom, among others.
Interested players must simply enter the weekly $100 + $10 Aussie Millions Main Event which is held on Sunday evenings. Satellite tournaments and Sit N'Go's are also being held. Buy-ins range from $1 + $0.10 to $55 + $5.50.
