Review
Anyone who plays poker has heard the name Doyle Brunson. Maybe you have met him in person, or seen him in one of the many televised tournaments he has played in, or maybe you actually play on his poker site. No matter how his name sounds familiar, Doyle Brunson is a poker legend.
Having played poker his entire adult life, Brunson, or Texas Dolly as some refer to him, is the world's most famous poker player. He has won more money, played more tournaments and achieved more fame than any other player alive.
Brunson's poker career started when an injury at a young age left him unable to play basketball and he needed something to satisfy his competitive nature. Since then he has played poker all over the world - in back alley games in New York, tournaments in Las Vegas, high-stakes cash games in the legendary "Bobby's Room" at the Bellagio, on the GSN's High Stakes Poker television show - and he never tires.
This book is a reprint of According to Doyle, a memoir originally published in 1984, and is the second of the five books he has written. It is a collection of tales and anecdotes from Brunson's fascinating life and is sure to inspire poker players the world over.
The book also holds some poker wisdom and tips on the mindset and lifestyle of great poker players, but the real value is in the great story it tells.
The anecdotes of Doyle Brunson and his friends and foes are nothing short of spectacular. Many of the stories are of the "old U.S.A." and the people and situations that Brunson encounters while traveling the country in search of a chip and a chair. Anyone interested in poker or just the days of past hustlers and players should pick up a copy. It will bring you hours of entertainment.

- A Winning Lifestyle
