Poker room PKR joins podcasting craze

PKR is coming directly to poker players.

Billing itself as a "next-gen" poker room, PKR is propelling into the vanguard digital medium of podcasting.

The in-house effort is called PKRcast, a show featuring news, expert strategy tips and interviews with poker insiders. The podcast, PKR said in a release, builds on the site's flourishing online community.

To give PKRcast a listen - essentially it will sound like a radio show, but available online for downloading anytime - visit PKR.com or iTunes. Listeners can also subscribe through an RSS feed.

The first episode features interviews with PKR team members as they get ready to compete at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The program will also include hints every player needs to achieve his game goals.

"We're looking forward to extending the conversation with our players even further with the introduction of a podcast," PKR marketing director Simon Prodger said in a release.
