To compete with the best you need to learn from the best. That's just what Nam Le did as he watched his cousin Tuan Le play at the highest poker stakes and then got his help getting into the game.
That coaching and experience led to Nam becoming one of the most consistent players in the poker tournament circuit.
His first step on the road to building that reputation came in February 2004 when he came in fifth place in the $500 No-Limit Hold'em event of the L.A. Poker Classic. A week later he bested that finish in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event of the LAPC with a third place finish.
That taste of success propelled him to a few more cashes in 2004 as well, including a sixth-place finish in the World Poker Tour Championship that December for a $152,468 cash.
In 2005, that list of cashes increased tremendously as well, including some World Series of Poker cashes and a few wins in some smaller tournaments. His first big win came in early 2006 with the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star where he picked up more than $1 million for first place.
In June 2006 he picked up a win in the $5,000 main event of the Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge as well. Then he went on to cash in five WSOP events and another WPT event, propelling himself into second place for Player of the Year.
Nam has continued to rack up cash after cash on the poker circuit year after year including at WSOP and WPT events. He may still be looking for that next big win, but his patient, aggressive style makes it a sure bet that Nam will always be a threat at the tables.
