The John Dolan story should be familiar to most players.
Dolan, who is known online as JRD313 online, dropped out of college to enter the world of professional poker.
It wasn't easy, at first, for Dolan who had to maintain a number of small jobs on the side but after awhile the pieces started to fall into place.
Over time the young online pro started winning consistently online and took down tournaments like the Full Tilt $1k Monday, the PokerStars Sunday $200 Rebuy and the Sunday Warm-up.
Before long he had earned over $1.2 million online and was ready to venture into live play.
In 2009, Dolan won his first event at the Gulf Coast Poker Championship. It was just a $300 side event but he took home $32,956 for his efforts.
Fast forward to 2010 where Dolan finished sixth in one of the WSOP $1,000 events for $82,804 and then made the biggest final table of them all - the 2010 WSOP Main Event.
