The main motivation the movie producer Steve Jeffares had for making the film Poker Kings was his fascination with the personalities of professional poker players. Garry Bush was one of the champions featured in the film, which is a must-see for all connoisseurs.

Garry knows virtually all of the poker variant games and has a great deal of experience playing them, though his favorite is Seven-Card Stud. He first learned to play poker in local billiards halls when he was just a boy. He says: "I learned to play by trial and error, watching people and situations."

After playing in tournaments for only one and a half years, he had emerged victorious from two. He has cultivated a confidence that allows him to capitalize on other players' mistakes. No matter how formidable an opponent might be, Garry Bush is not intimidated. He says: "I just play my hand and my game."

In 1999, Garry was nicknamed "The Whacker" and the name stuck. In both 2000 and 2001, The Whacker enjoyed four first-place finishes in European tournaments. In 2002, when he won the Moscow Open, he was named European Poker Player of the Year. In 2004, he finished second in the $3,000 Hold'em event of the World Series of Poker, and can boast of having made quads against Phil Hellmuth in Vegas.

Garry is no stranger to online poker. He feels that online, you can play far more hands as well as many tables simultaneously. More often than not, you can find him playing online at Noble Poker.

Though he might not be as enthusiastic about tournament play as the typical poker professional, he has a goal of winning three WSOP bracelets. Garry values a proper mental state as a tool to winning; to achieve it he will often relax in a steam room or Jacuzzi prior to tournament play. His attitude towards the game is easygoing; he has said, "Let it be fun. Don't take it too seriously. It's not life or death."
