About Daniel Schreiber

Daniel Schreiber
Name Daniel Schreiber
Current Residence Seoul, KR

Helping prove that age is certainly not a determining factor in poker tournament play, Daniel Schreiber won his first ever World Series of Poker event in 2007 when he took down the Heads-Up Poker Championship at the age of 21 years, 11 months and 9 days.

The win put him in the record books as the fifth youngest person to win a WSOP bracelet. He trails Steve Billirakis, who became the youngest winner in 2007, Jeff Madsen, who was the youngest winner in 2006, Eric Froehlich, who was the youngest in 2005, and James Mackey, who took the fourth spot in 2007 at the age of 21 years, 3 months and 20 days.

With his win, Daniel marked his first-ever cash in a live tournament and got to return to his home in Seoul, Korea, with $425,594.

Despite his young age at the 2007 WSOP, Schreiber told PokerListings.com he had nearly six years of poker experience under his belt before his win. He plays online at PokerStars.com, and that's also where he gained the invaluable experience in heads-up play that took him to victory.

Schreiber is also a professional StarCraft player, which he says helped his poker game.

"They're both games of missing information," he told PokerListings.com. "You have to figure out what your opponent is doing and use it against them. If you're good at StarCraft, you're going to be good at poker. That's just a fact."
