Daniel Alaei might just be the most underrated player in poker.
The Sante Fe Springs, California, resident has quietly carved out a niche for himself as a successful cash game player who has somehow amassed an incredible $3.7 million in live tournament winnings.
Despite being relatively young, Alaei has been involved in the poker industry since the start of the poker boom in 2003. He is both well-known and respected by the high stakes poker community.
Although he prefers higher buy-in tournaments, Alaei has an impressive record at the WSOP since 2005 that includes 17 cashes, two WSOP bracelets and a deep run in the 2007 Main Event.
In 2009 Alaei added to his considerable success at the WSOP by finally recording a World Poker Tour victory at the WPT Doyle Brunson World Poker Classic for a $1.5 million payday.
