About Isaac Baron

Isaac Baron
Isaac Baron

You might say Isaac Baron is a product of the Moneymaker effect. He's one of the many people who watched the 2003 World Series of Poker and was caught up in Chris Moneymakers rise from online qualifier to Main Event winner.

Baron was still just a teen at the time, but he and his friends decided to learn the game and started a friendly home game going. It wasn't long before that friendly game turned more serious and one of them tested the online poker waters and Baron followed by setting up an account on PokerStars.

By the time he was 21 and old enough to play in the casinos in the United States, Baron was already gaining a reputation as a legend.

He had a winning record in online cash games and was scoring big in some of the tournaments as well. His wins include a PokerStars Sunday Million (without a chop) in 2007, a $215 Rebuy at PokerStars, a $750,000 Guaranteed and a Sunday Mulligan at Full Tilt Poker. In May 2008, he also picked up a Full Tilt Online Poker Series win in the No-Limit Hold'em Six-Max event.

In 2006, Baron started taking on live tournaments outside the United States. That January he headed for the Bahamas where he cashed in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in 35th place. Later that year he took on the World Poker Tour North American Poker Championships in Canada for an 18th-place finish.

In 2007 he added two more WPT cashes, one again at the PCA and another in Turks and Caicos. He posted a couple of European Poker Tour cashes in 2008, plus he finally tackled a U.S. WPT event with the Festa al Lago where he cashed in 20th place.

For the most part though, if you want to see Baron in action, you'll have to go searching for him in the ring games. He's a pro at Full Tilt Poker where he can be found playing high-stakes No-Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha.
