Neil Channing has always been regarded as a strong tournament player, highly respected both among his poker peers at his local casino "The Vic" in London and in wider circles as well.

It's a pleasure to interview Neil as he is so happy to talk about a wide variety of subjects with little or no prompting. I get the impression that despite having played a full day's poker, he would gladly go on about politics, finances or poker strategy for hours on end.
Neil clearly has a number of fingers in various pies, but right now he is within touching distance of a bracelet and come tomorrow, we can expect the seasoned pro to give it his best shot.
He'll have some tough competition, and currently has just under the average stack, but he has the experience and wherewithal, and it won't be a shock if we see Neil Channing add a bracelet to his Irish Open title and other poker accomplishments.
And then the self-described old-school pro might allow himself a little chuckle at having bested the young Internet kids ... for now at least.
