Review
Let's start with this statement: Poker Face 2 is the absolute, ultimate coffee table book on the subject of poker. That is exactly what anyone picking up this 10-pound-plus monster of a book will know after carefully opening it.
With the 25th anniversary edition of Poker Face 2 Ulvis Alberts, Al Alvarez and Paul Zibits have compiled the best collection anyone can hope to own on the subject of poker. Latvian-born photographer Alberts' pictures stretch from the 1977 World Series of Poker to present time and capture every detail and emotion on the subject. Alvarez and Zibits seal the deal with their text.
The book's pictures and commentary tell the amazing story of the greatest game in the world, making it hard for you to put the book down. The pictures are mostly black-and-white and the whole book has a very classy look and feel, printed on deluxe stock with over 400 pictures.
The only negative side to this behemoth of poker nostalgia is the price tag: at $274, it is anything but cheap. Some consolation, however, can be found in the fact that it is sure to be a good investment as the print run is limited to 2,000 copies. So if you have $300 lying around and want to own a piece of what will be poker history, pick up Poker Face 2 at www.pokerface2.com.
The book totals 351 pages, measures 13"x11" and comes in a protective box.
