Poker authors to prove their worth at tournament this month

What's the best way to promote poker books? Host a poker tournament featuring the authors, of course. The inaugural Poker Author Challenge, a Texas Hold'em tournament, will take place at Binion's in Las Vegas Jan. 21.

The poker tournament will feature several poker authors. The event will be presented by Sheree Bykofsky and Lou Krieger, along with their newest poker publication, "The Rules of Poker."

Other authors playing in the tournament will be Gary Carson, George Epstein, Russ Fox, Tony Guerrera, Susie Isaacs, Maryann Morrison, Neil Myers, Alan Schoonmaker, Richard Sparks, John Vorhaus, Kathleen Watterson and more.

Bykofsky said she is excited about the Poker Author Challenge and expects it to be a great event.

"Binion's is a great venue for sponsoring and hosting this event," Bykofsky said. "With low room rates and in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, this tournament will be sure to be a fun and challenging event for all players."

The tournament will cost $125 including fees, and gives poker players a chance to take on their favorite authors at the tables. Players who knock out an author will also win a special bounty prize.

Book signing and registration for the tournament begins at 10 a.m. For more information, call Binion's at (800) 937-6537.
