PLO no friend to Hansen Sunday

Gus Hansen
A gloomy Gus.

By Sarah Polson

The high-stakes tables have been a little quiet this past week at Full Tilt Poker after seeing big action in October. That doesn't mean they're completely dead however.

On Sunday, Gus Hansen was playing Pot-Limit Omaha on three different tables and managed to drop some big bucks. It appears that in most of the big pots that Hansen played at during his sessions on Sunday, he ended up on the losing end.

He had a couple good hands against Brian Hastings for almost $100k pots per hand, but it couldn't make up for three hands of more than $100,000 pots that he lost to OMGClayAiken and Phil Ivey.

Two of those hands went to OMGClayAiken, the first at 6:42 p.m. at Full Tilt Poker's Acres (deep-six) table.

Phil Ivey, OMGClay Aiken and Gus Hansen were all in the action pre-flop while the remaining players, Brian Hastings, sunra18 and trex313 stepped aside.

After a flop of 4d Jh 7d, Hansen raised and Ivey got out of the way as OMGClayAiken and Hansen had a mini chip battle. When the dust had settled, there was $139,591 in the pot and OMGClayAiken was showing 5h 3d 6d 4h and Hansen had Kd Jc Js Kh.

When the turn and river brought the 9c and 8s, OMGClayAiken was raking in the chips. You can see the hand played out here.

The two went at it again for a $112,986 pot less than an hour later at Full Tilt Poker's Broad (deep-six) Pot-Limit Omaha table. Nearly the same cast of characters was in play at the table, minus Ivey and with the addition of Sapster.

At the start of the hand, OMGClayAiken raised and got a call from Hansen while the rest of the players folded. Once again the two got all-in after the flop.

This time the flop came 9c Ac 2h, and Hansen showed Jc 9d Tc As to OMGClayAiken's Ah 3d Ad Ts. A turn of 2s and river of 6c left OMGClayAiken another good pot. See how the hand played out here.

On a third table, again with many of the same players, Hansen and Ivey also clashed with Hansen coming out on the losing end as well. You can watch the hand play out on the hand replayer here, or you can read how it played out below.
