PartyGaming, Plc. has entered into a long-term software licensing agreement with Playtech for the online gambling company's newly acquired Web sites.
PartyGaming recently purchased online gambling sites from Empire Online Limited (EOL) and Intercontinental Online Gaming Limited. The four-year agreement with Playtech will keep those gaming sites exclusively on the Playtech platform.
Avigur Zmora, Playtech CEO, said the company is delighted to have established this important relationship with one of the leading online gaming companies and looks forward to a long and successful partnership.
"The fact that PartyGaming has chosen to continue operating these sites on the Playtech platform is a clear indication of the market leading position that our software holds," he said.
The agreement is subject to the final approval of the sale of the sites by EOL shareholders. When all is said and done, the Web sites such as Fair Poker will continue operating as usual.
The poker and online gambling sites will have the added advantage of cross-selling opportunities to the current PartyGaming player base.
"We believe that Playtech's software will compliment PartyGaming's existing products whilst providing an additional route to further revenue enhancement," Zmora said.
The agreement with Playtech will give PartyGaming, which owns and operates PartyPoker.com, access to the software company's casino, poker and bingo products.
