By Erik Sylven

One of the world's largest online poker software providers, Playtech, is negotiating a new gaming license agreement with a pure Asian-facing gaming business, according to an official statement on the company's website.

The statement says that Playtech has "entered into early stage negotiations" about the new Asian, gaming license.

Today Playtech is registered in Kahnawake, Canada. When the new licensing agreement might be ready, or how the negotiations are coming along, is not disclosed.

"Owing to confidentiality agreements, the company is not able to provide further comment at this stage and will update the market as and when appropriate" Playtech said.

Playtech is the software provider of the iPoker network, which includes poker sites such as Titan Poker, Poker Ocean and USA poker.
