How are you feeling about your game on the first day of the World Series of Poker?

Well I'm out already, but it's no problem. The tournament just started and I didn't catch any cards today but I'm sure I will. If I just keep playing well, something good will happen.

Is it hard to rebound from going out early in a tournament?

No, it's a big plus to go out early. It's not a set back. If you are going to go out you might as well go out early. Why would I want to play for two days and not get any money? This way I can get some rest and go play the tournament tomorrow.

Do you do any preparation before a big tournament?

I try to sleep eight hours the night before. I exercise for about an hour before I leave and I also eat a good meal. You need to be relaxed and fresh.

How do you describe yourself as a player?

I'm a very aggressive player. I've got a lot of gears. I can be playing very fast or very tight - it all depends on the table. I adjust to the people that are playing.

Are there any events in the 2006 World Series of Poker that you are particularly looking forward to?

The [Main Event] for sure. I also like No-Limit 2-7 Draw.

Will you play the H.O.R.S.E. event?

Yeah I'd like to play it. It's definitely interesting. I like all the games and play them.

What do you think a player has to do to be successful at that event?

Sometimes anybody can win but you have to be an all-around player in the long run.

Who has the biggest ego in poker?

I think Phil Hellmuth has the biggest ego. I mean I love Phil, don't get me wrong, but I'd have to say he is the one with the biggest ego.

The World Series of Poker can turn into a marathon. How do you keep fresh over the seven weeks?

You have to get a lot of sleep, eat good, healthy food and have a lot of sex. That will keep you going.

Do you play a lot of poker before the World Series or none at all?

I play on the Internet. It's so convenient, it's perfect.

What kind of impact has the Internet had on poker?

It has boosted the business. It's like five or ten times bigger now.

With the size of tournaments these days, does it all come down to luck?

It's tougher to win, but at the same time the pot is five or six times bigger. There is a lot more money in the pool. I think it's great.

What's the difference between a game like poker and other televised games like basketball and football?

The biggest difference is that I can watch a professional basketball player play, but I can never be like him. [In poker] all you need is the cash and you can play. It's great.

What's your goal this year?

My goal is to play as many tournaments as I can. I've always done well in cash games, but I want to focus on tournaments this year.
