Playboy Mansion to open doors for charity poker event

Celebrities, Playmates and poker - that's certainly a winning combination for charities these days and what participants will find at the Second Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament and Casino Night at the Playboy Mansion.

The charity event is scheduled to take place April 28 and will benefit the Urban Health Institute (UHI). There will be $50,000 in prizes including a seat in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event for the winner.

Entry into the poker tournament costs $1,500. Re-buys will also be available for the first hour of the tournament. People who want to just come and watch can do so for a $500 donation.

Along with the poker tournament, a variety of casino games will also be set up at the mansion for people to play. The admission price also includes hors d'oeuvres and drinks.

The reception for the event will be from 7 to 8 p.m., with the tournament beginning at 8 p.m.

Last year, the inaugural event for the charity poker tournament brought in stars such as Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth, Oliver Hudson, Mekhi Phifer and tournament winner Don Cheadle.

Gavin Smith, Amir Vahedi, David Williams and Cyndy Violette also turned out along with other poker pros.

The proceeds from the tournament will help the UHI fulfill its mission to provide direct care, medicine and medical equipment to places hit by man-made or natural disasters.
