PKR launches one-handed satellites

By: Lars Sundin

To the existing range of satellite formats, from slow-paced re-buys and deep-stack tournaments to the faster speed or even turbo satellites, PKR adds satellites that last one single hand.

When the first hand is dealt, all players move all-in, one winner takes it all and it's over. That's how easy it will be to qualify to bigger tournaments at PKR from now on.

Obviously, there'll be no skill involved in these satellites. It's poker reduced to a game of pure chance. But then again, no one will be able to out-skill you.

You get a chance to play in an expensive tournament for only a fraction of the buy-in. It's quickly over and done with. You know exactly what you get.

A perfectly honest deal, that is. It remains to be seen if one-handed satellites will be a success - or perhaps the "bet noir" of online poker.

One-handed satellites for a seat in Thursday night's $7,500 guaranteed tournament are coming up.
