PokerStars Team Online pro Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen is the 2012 EPT Copenhagen champion after outlasting Pierre Neuville over a six-hour heads-up battle today to seal the win.

Petersen, who’s earned more than $4.6 million online, takes home 2,515,00 DKK ($452,357), his first major live title and by far his biggest live cash.

Neuville, known as the Serial EPT Qualifier for his extraordinary record of satellite entries, earns his second career runner-up finish on the EPT and 1,600,000 DKK ($288,569).

According to the reports tableside, despite the epic heads-up match it was surprisingly devoid of action.

Petersen used his relentless aggression to grind Neuville down, even to well under 10 big blinds, before Neuville would find a premium hand and double up.

Eventually Petersen got Neuville to commit his stack with the worst of it and Petersen's A5 topped Neuville’s A4 when a five came on the river.

Early Action Fast and Furious

The early stages of the final table were the diametrical opposite of the heads-up match with plenty of action and a steady stream of bustouts.

Short stack Spencer Hudson was gone before the seats were even warm, his JJ falling to chip leader Aage Ravn’s AT when an ace hit the turn.

Steve O’Dwyer was next to go when he shoved his short stack in with A-3 and got looked up by Ravn with AJ.

Niels Van Alphen and Jacob Rasmussen went out in sixth and fifth respectively before start-of-day chip leader Ravn met his demise in fourth.

Dane Bjarke Hansen exited third to set up the epic heads-up battle between Neuville and Petersen.
