Paul Wasicka now a poker royal
World Series of Poker bubble boy Paul Wasicka will be represented exclusively by industry agency Poker Royalty, the firm announced Thursday. The agreement is long-term and covers all areas of poker marketing, endorsements and speaking engagements.
Wasicka was runner up to 2006 WSOP champion Jamie Gold but has seen his success continue to grow since then. The 26-year-old recently won the NBC Heads Up Championship and finished fourth at the L.A. Poker Classic.
His $6.1 million win at last year's series helped boost him to fifth place on the list of all-time poker tournament money winners.
"The accomplishments Paul has achieved in the last six months are remarkable and we are thrilled to have him join the team," Chris Porter of Poker Royalty said in a release.
Among the latest achievements to be added to Wasicka's resume is his recent deal to endorse the site Full Tilt Poker, which was negotiated on his behalf by the agency. He will represent the poker room at this year's WSOP and the 2007 World Poker Tour Championship.
Choosing which agency would go to bat for him was simple, said Wasicka.
"When I began looking for representation, it was obvious: Poker Royalty has an iron-clad reputation and the client list to back it up," he said.
