Million V cruise sets sail Sunday

The Million V cruise will set sail for the Caribbean from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., March 12. The "Cash in the Caribbean" cruise will host 500 players and their guests aboard Holland America's MS Westerdam for the world's biggest Limit Texas Hold'em tournament and its $5 million prize pool.

The week-long event has attracted the likes of defending champion Michael Gracz and 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) fourth place finisher Aaron Kanter.

The $10,200 buy-in tournament will award first place with a $1 million cash payout. Each player will begin the event with $10,000 in chips and play until they lose or make the final table on the fifth day of the cruise.

The majority of players earned their spot in the Million V by logging on to and competing in $33 buy-in preliminary tournaments.

There were also sub-qualifying tournaments with buy-ins of $5 + $1 and $10 + $1. Winners who qualified in those preliminary satellite tournaments received a $13,500 package, including the $10,200 championship buy-in, a cruise for two, and spending money.

Past winners of the event include Gracz, Erick Lindgren, Howard Lederer, and Kathy Liebert.

The luxury week-long cruise, which returns to port March 19 will also host the $250,000 World Blackjack Championships and a $50,000 slots tournament. The MS Westerdam is scheduled to port in Grand Cayman, Bahamas, and Jamaica for one day each.
