PartyPoker pays out free cash to pp_yelloarmy
By Sarah Polson
There are plenty of reasons why people enjoy playing online poker - the thrill of the game, meeting people from all over the world - but perhaps the biggest reason is the free and easy money that seems to be out there.
One PokerListings.com player took full advantage of that free money at PartyPoker Aug. 16 during the monthly exclusive $2,000 freeroll for PokerListings.com players. With 234 players taking on the freeroll, pp_yelloarmy from Oulton Broad, Suffolk, England, took home the win.
The 42-year old Englishman has been playing poker for about five years. He said he was initially attracted to the game for its challenge and the opportunity to compete against others.
Now he plays about four times a week for about four hours each session, and jokingly said he plays "too often if you ask my wife."
All that playing in his free time when he's not busy with his operations supervisor job paid off for pp_yelloarmy with his freeroll win at PartyPoker.
"The other competitors were tough," he said. "I achieved my win with patience and a couple of lucky calls at the right time."
This was pp_yelloarmy's biggest win so far, though he said he's won other tournaments with more people in them. He plans to use the money to take his wife away for a short break.
That may cut into his four times per week that he plays at PartyPoker, so perhaps he'll be playing a little extra in order to qualify for the next monthly $2,000 freeroll exclusively for PokerListings.com players at the poker site.
All it takes to qualify is to have signed up at PartyPoker through a PokerListings.com link and then earn 100 player points during the month prior to the freeroll.
