PartyGaming Plc. poker revenues rebounding
By Sarah Polson
PartyGaming Plc. released a report this week that shows its poker revenues are on the rebound. The gross daily averages are up after falling to a daily low of $637,000 after the United States passed anti-online gambling legislation in October.
The daily poker revenues are now averaging around $721,000. PartyGaming Plc. owns and operates PartyPoker.com.
The company closed its site to U.S. players after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was passed. That loss in players caused them to drop from number one poker site status as well as drop in revenue.
PartyGaming is recovering now and revenues are also up in other areas of its business. The company is also reporting that it is in talks to buy smaller companies that were having trouble after the UIGEA was passed.
The company is also looking into other areas of the online gambling market. It has expanded its betting and casino services, and PartyPoker.com was launched in German in November. More languages are planned in the coming months as well as multi-currency offerings.
