The 2015 EPT Deauville main event title is Dany Parlafes’ to lose.

The Romanian dominated Day 5 of the tournament and owns over 40% of the chips in play with just six players remaining.

Parlafes ended the day with 7.5 million chips. His closest competitor is Benjamin Buhr with just 3.4 million.

The final table also includes noted French pro Benjamin Pollak but he’ll be fighting from a short stack with 1,675,000 chips.

American pro Kevin MacPhee just missed out on his second EPT victory by finishing 11th for €38,080.

Tournament Blazes Past 8-Player Final Table

Carlino 9
Joseph Carlino is sixth in chips

In years past the EPT would generally stop for the day when it reached the final table of eight players.

With plenty of time still on the clock organizers decided to keep going after a few publicity shots of the final eight.

It didn’t pan out for Massou Cohen (7th) and Matas Cimbolas (8th) who won’t make it to the final day of the event despite making it to the final table.

Carlo Savinelli (9th) and Joseph El Khoury (10th) were also among the notable casualties on Day 5.

The final day of the tournament will begin at 1 p.m. local time. You can watch the livestream right here on PokerListings.
