Paradise Poker 'cold war' heading for tropics
The new "Poker Cold War" on Paradise Poker is nearing its denouement: The last spots are being nailed down for a 34-player final, and they're heading for the Bahamas to decide who's the best Nordic poker player once and for all.
It's called Slaget om Norden 3, and online players from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Finland have been jockeying for one of those 34 final spots over the last few months in daily and weekly freerolls.
Up for grabs in the final: 1.5 million kroner in their own currency, and bragging rights across Scandanivia, at least for a year.
This is how it'll play out: 32 finalists will be flown to the Bahamas in May, courtesy of Paradise Poker, to play in the Slaget main event at the Atlantis Resort, with eight players to a table in a shootout format.
Ten players will then make it to the Slaget final table - eight players from the main event joined by one "Paradise Hotseat" lottery winner and Slaget om Norden 2 champion Lars Johansen.
Sunday finals run every week on Paradise Poker for those main event seats, and daily freeroll and cash satellites run for seats in that Sunday final.
Six seats to the live main event are also being offered by lottery, and one player will win a seat to the main event by qualifying for the highest number of Sunday finals.
Other players can enter the daily heats, but only residents of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Finland can progress to the weekly finals or main event.
For all the details and a schedule for the daily qualifiers, visit Paradise Poker.
