Play poker, mingle with celebrities and raise money for charity … in Cannes … for free.

That's what Pacific Poker is offering one of its players in May. The poker site will host a freeroll that will award one player a prize package worth €8,000 to play in the 888 Celebrity Charity Challenge.

Two celebrities - Ben Affleck and Matt Damon - are already confirmed for the May 19th charity event slated to take place during the Cannes Film Festival. Their charities, Not On Our Watch and One Voice For Freedom, will benefit from the event.

The top prize in the charity event is a $250,000 beach house in Durban, South Africa.

According to 888.com, the charity event is expected to attract only the very top A-list celebrities and richest donators from around the world. However, one of those seats among the stars has been reserved for a Pacific Poker player.

Players who earn 1,200 frequent player points at Pacific Poker between March 11 and May 6 will be entered into a May 9 freeroll starting at 7 p.m. GMT with a seat on the line.

All the players at the final table of the freeroll will win an 888.com chipset as well as a set of poker DVDs including Matt Damon's Rounders.

The winner's package includes the €1,000 buy-in for the tournament, three nights' accommodation for two at a five-star hotel and all flights and transfers to and from the event. The winner and his or her guest will also get dinner out at Palme d'Or.

Players who don't make the 1,200 FPP requirement have a second shot at getting in the freeroll as well. Pacific Poker will host a $150 tournament May 7 at 8 p.m. GMT that will give the top three finishers a seat in the freeroll.
