No WPT cams at Grand Prix de Paris
It looks like there will be no trip to Paris for Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten this spring. Due to the uncertain legal situation regarding poker in France, the World Poker Tour (WPT) has decided not to film the Grand Prix de Paris.
The tournament at the Aviation Club de France will be played as planned from May 6 to 11, but there will be no WPT cams there to bring poker fans all the action.
"Due to gaming regulations in France, we did not receive assurances in the time needed to proceed with filming the event," stated a letter addressed to WPT players from the tour.
"We continue to work with Parisian officials to obtain permission to film at the Aviation Club at a later date. We have a great relationship with the WPT Charter Member Casino and look forward to resuming our tour stops in France," the letter continued.
With the Grand Prix de Paris off the air, the Mirage Poker Showdown starting May 19 will be the first event of the WPT Season 6.
