No doubt for Daut - tops Mandalay Bay
By Erik Sylven
Ryan Daut is the chip leader after Day 2 of the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship. He tops the World Poker Tour event with $320,000 in chips ahead of Day 1 leader Shawn Buchanon who sits with $275,000.
In the early stages of most major poker tournaments, big-name eliminations are plentyful, and Day 2 of the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship was no exception.
David Sklansky, J.C. Tran, Allen Cunningham, Scott Fischman, Erik Seidel, Erica Schoenberg, Joanne "J.J." Liu, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Tilly, Joe Sebok, David Benyamine, Jamie Gold, Kathy Liebert, James Van Alstyne and Phil Laak are some of those who won't return for Day 3.
Top pros still in the hunt for a WPT title include John Juanda, David Levi, Chantel McNulty, Barry Greenstein, Michael Mizrachi, Jared Hamby, Billy Baxter, Alan Goehring and Thomas Wahlroos.
In total, 33 players remain in the tournament, and with 27 places getting paid, the real action will start when Day 3 gets underway today.
