Two days, another $1.2 million for Ivey

Phil Ivey

By Christopher Hunt

It's good to be the king.

Loved by the television-watching poker public; esteemed by his peers; welcomed with front-row seats everywhere; all that Full Tilt swag ... some people just live better lives than the rest of us.

And then there's Phil Ivey level.

Possibly the most revered player in the world, Ivey did nothing in the first two days of September to damage his reputation as poker's kingpin, torching a tidy portion of the world's high-stakes regulars for over $1.2 million on his personal $500/$1,000 PLO table at Full Tilt Poker.

Ziigmund, David Benyamine, LoLina, guaranteed376, slaktarn, durrrr, some new guy on the scene named boygotgame ... didn't really matter who stepped up, they all took a beatdown over the course of a few big sessions - none more spectacularly than online poster boy Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

Warily referred to as "the kid who's going to bust me" in one of Ivey's "Life of Ivey" segments on PokerRoad, Dwan may even be the only player who strikes a little bit of fear in Ivey's heart.

But none of that came to fruition in their session Monday as Ivey simply flopped, drew or faded whatever cards he needed at will, then watched durrrr reload and come back for more.

Four huge pots over $200k did the bulk of the damage; check out the hand histories for the smaller three here, here, and here.

Check out the biggest - for a massive $290k and the biggest of the week so far in online poker - below.
