The Road 2 Recovery foundation has teamed up with Monster Energy Drinks and Full Tilt Poker for an online tournament fundraiser.

Half of the entry money from the $10 ($5+$5) tournament makes up the prize pool for the players who finish in the money, with an added Curtis & Co. "World" model sports watch valued at $2,200 going to the winner.

As a staunch supporter of the Injured Riders Fund, Monster has agreed to match up to $10,000 of the charitable proceeds.

R2R is a charitable organization established to support professional AMA Motocross and Supercross members who sustain career-ending injuries. Founded by Jimmy Button after his own post-crash recovery, R2R's goal is to eventually have the ability to maintain the quality of life for all riders who, due to career-ending injuries, are no longer able to earn a living on a bike.

The list of world-class athletes and poker players on board for this event include: R2R founder Jimmy Button (BTNFLY), Supercross celebrities Josh Grant, Grant Langston and Jason Thomas, along with professional snowboarder and world halfpipe champion Jeff Brushie (SMAKEbreak), Olympic medalist and two-time X Games champion Ross Powers (powersusa), professional snowboarder Kris Swierz (WheatSApuff), and FullTiltPoker.com representatives Andy Bloch, Jeff Madsen, Jennifer Harman, Roy Winston, Marco Traniello and Karina & Chip Jett.

To show your support to R2R by playing a little poker, sign up to FTP and register in the event. The "Monster" charity tournament can be found under the Private tab in Full Tilt's Tournaments directory. The event is listed as "Sep 21, - 1830 - Hold'em - NL - $5+$5" and is highlighted in red.

If you're unable to make this event, R2R is also hosting a live tournament at the MGM in Las Vegas on Oct. 9. This $300 with $100 rebuys event has a star-studded list of poker players scheduled to be in attendance.

The winner of the MGM tournament will receive a $10,000 2009 WSOP Main Event ticket, with second- and third-place winners receiving a Curtis and Co. "World" series watch valued at $2,200 each.

Preregister for the charity poker tournament on the Road 2 Recovery Web site. Players may also register for the tournament and side activities in the MGM Grand poker room on the day of the event.
