Benyamine's massive heater continues

Is there anyone in the poker world who inspires more speculation about his financial wherewithal than David Benyamine?

Known for his epic, multi-day high-stakes sessions (live and online) and massive bankroll swings, the man affectionately dubbed "Degenyamine" has been the subject of more than a few "Benyamine busto?" threads in the poker forums.

Given the stakes he plays at, his high-caliber opponents and the frequency with which he leaves the tables down half a million or so, there even seems to be an occasional legitimacy to the claims.

The truth however seems far from it - particularly after a white-hot start to 2008 that has seen him dominate the Pot-Limit Omaha tables to the tune of roughly $1.6 million in winnings, according to highstakesdb.com.

He even seems to have curbed his most substantial leak - spewing it all back at the Hold'em tables - keeping his losses for the year in Hold'em to about $270k.

Benyamine was back working his roll at his bread-and-butter PLO tables yesterday and things again went according to his 2008 pattern - another winning session against some of the world's best players, including Di "Urindanger" Dang, Gus Hansen and Cole South.

His biggest take: A $132k pot against South, which was also enough to earn him top spot on the biggest pots won online yesterday.
